Newt Bragg's Place

   In the real world, that's about any place but County Clay, historical structures are maintained and turned into a place tourists love to see and explore. It's big business. That won't be the case in this Land of Little if State Govt gets their way.
   At the top of this page is what's referred to as the old Newt Bragg place located at the confluence of the Elk River and Buffalo Creek. The wooden building survived the Great Wash Out of 2016 and is a left over from the days of company houses and the JG Bradley empire from the last century.
State Govt purchased the place and has plans to turn it and the surrounding property into some kind of ERTS Welcome Center. That's great!
Unfortunately, instead of remodeling the historical structure back to its former glory, Gold Dome Suits plan to bulldoze the place and then build a new building to look like the Newt Bragg House.
They plan to tear everything down and rebuild the exact same, a replica.
Are you thinking? The tourist guides can read something along the lines: Come visit a replica of a company house built by your tax dollars, and identical to the real thang.
   Doesn't that sound like a real draw?
   It's not to late to make phone calls to Legislative leaders and change their minds.
