Larry Rodney Patton, 77, of Clendenin, West Virginia, was released from this life on October 11th, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.

Larry was born on July 18th, 1948, to late George Ray Patton and Erla Ethel (Abbott) Patton. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Ann (Cobb) Patton and daughter, Jeanie Lynn Patton along with his siblings, Patricia Carpenter, Robin Patton, Lois Jean Fisher, Louie Patton, and Barbara Elmore.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Patton) Mance and her two sons, Timothy (Paige) and Joshua Mance; son Larry Ray Patton and his children, Joseph Carte, Crieo Bishop (Megan), and Ceiaira Patton; grandson John Patton and his wife Cassie. Great-grandchildren, Makynlee, Ellie, Hattie, Victoria, Ryder, Rylie, and Odin. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers, Kellar Patton and Mike Patton along with several nieces and nephews and a special companion, Sandy Sloan. A special thanks to his caregiver, Melissa Huffman aka “His bodyguard”.

He was a proud veteran and enjoyed working as a mechanic at Mack. He also took pride in being a logger and running his own company, Rod Patton Logging. He spent a lot of his free time hunting and fishing along with attending car shows in his Mack pickup that he built himself. He was always offering a helping hand and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Most of all, he loved his roles in life of being a husband, Dad, Papaw, brother, and friend.

Visitation will be 10am-12pm, Tuesday October 14th, 2025 at Stump-Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin, WV. Graveside service will follow at Fairview Memory Gardens, Clendenin, with lifetime friend, Billy Schoolcraft, speaking on his life.
