MISSING N
ACTION
March 25 2024
Wayward Commissioner Dave Schoolcraft
People in these parts
don't expect much from elected leaders. Consequentially we
don't get much from those elected by the people. Over the
years we've seen some real let downs.
Back in 2004, Commissioner Tim Butcher quit coming to
public meetings after getting beat by Peter Triplett in the
Primary election. He still collected his check but was known
as the "no show" commissioner. His absence did little
to demand his resignation.
A little in the last decade Commissioner Mathew Bragg
did likewise and was titled the "He Ain't Comin"... once
again he collected his taxpayer funded check. See article
down below
School Boardster Charlie Osborne lived over in
Nicholas County while serving on the County Clay Board. O
Gene King moved out of his voting district in Maysel but
yelp, you got it, he kept on attending Board meetings and
collecting his $$. In both cases, citizens did not rise up
and seek justice.
There have been others.
Including now, David Schoolcraft who has missed more
County Commission meetings than attending in 2024.
For some meetings he hasn't even attempted to make it
look like he's doing what the voters demanded four years ago
when a majority put him in office. Maybe the most important
Commission duty is setting the new year budget for the Courthouse
offices. That's normally done in Feb or March of each year.
It is our believe that Commissioner Schoolcraft was a
no show for this year's budget meeting. He didn't even
participate via a tele connection.
The pattern will continue unless citizens revolt. How
about you?
