We really
haven't had much of a Winter in several years. The last big
snow was back in 2019 if memory serves us correctly. Beginning
Saturday night Jan 13th the white flakes were starting
to blanket County Clay. Monday afternoon many in our 342
square miles realized close to 8 inches of snow and shoveling
began.
State Road crews had some of the main roads passable in
short order but not quick enough for school to be held on the
16th. Side roads (see below) remain slicky and white. By 4pm
on the 16th, the announcement every kid and teacher waits for,
schools are shuttered for Wed Jan 17th. Parents started
weeping.
According to weathercasters, temps are suppose drop to single
digits Wed night and remain very chilly Wednesday. Brrrr.
Enjoy it while you can.
