Cody B Moore Nabbed

Mr Moore's Mug Shot
Wed Afternoon, Nov 4th,
scanner listeners heard some scary sounding excitement on
their 911 channels. At one point we heard our Top Badge
calling for back up after hearing a shots fired call.
Shortly thereafter, there went a Black Shirt
mobile screaming up Dobbinspeck mountain (Rt 36).
Those driving near Jamie Morris' residence saw an
ambulance in the wait and Badge mobile.
This criminal complaint was penned by Green Shirt J A
Miller, one of our newest Badges in the county.
With probable cause found by Magistrate Jeff Rider
later in the afternoon of Nov 4th, here's the official report
At approximately 2:42 Miller received a call from
Darlene Morris advising , someone had been shot at her son,
Jamie Morris', residence, 855 Wallback Road. Miller arrived at
the scene to find a non-responsive male later identified as
Benjamin Laughlin inside the residence with multiple gun shot
wounds
Mr Morris advised, the shooter was Cody Brooks Moore
(DOB 11-20-1989) who was to be driving a silver in color Chevy
Silverado pick em up truck with extended cab. Other Badges and
Clay EMS secured the scene and Miller drove to the last
known direction of travel of the suspect.
Miller was advised by the Sheriff that a vehicle
matching that description was located on Hansford Fork. THe
Sheriff's Dept was able to take the driver Cody Brooks Moore
into custody.
Miller transported Moore to the Green Shirt Resort for
processing where Moore admitted to shooting Benjamin Laughlin
mulitple times.
Cody B Moore has been charged with first and
second degree murder.
A couple notes
Look at that mug shot. Moore appears to be stoned out
of his head. Sure seems like, any confession by someone that
messed up, sure seems to be suspect, the guy almost appears
comatose.
We think the deceased was from Calhoun County. Moore is
from the Duck area of Ivydale. With no bond allowed, he's now
on our dime up in Central Regional Jail.
Also, On Nov 3rd, Sheriff, Top Badge, Randy Holcomb,
was tossed from office by the voters of County Clay. But,
there he was, 24 hours later, on the job, calling for back up,
and putting his life on the line.
Also, also, here's a case where using a police radio,
something the public can hear, may have made a difference in
the capture of this bad guy.
